The Enrollment Fair is Coming!

When: Sat, October 13, 2018: 9:00am – 2:00pm

Where: John O’Connell High School 2355 Folsom Street (between 19th St and 20th St)

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet representatives from all SFUSD schools in one place. Learn about language programs, special education, how to apply and more. This family-friendly event is open to the public (no registration required). Bilingual staff can assist in English, Spanish and Chinese.

HBCU Fair

SFUSD 5rd Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Fair

Location: Mission High School (3750 18th St)

Date: Monday, September 11th

Time: 4PM - 8PM


Students will have the opportunity to speak with Admission Directors, Assistant Admission Directors and Admission Counselors from 40 - 50 different HBCUs representing hundreds of majors and professional degrees. In addition, all students will be able to receive application fee waivers and “on-the-spot” admissions(with required documents) and scholarships. Online registration is open at http://www.gotocollegefairs.com/ but not required in order to attend.

Promotion Criteria

8th grade Graduation is just around the corner!!  We are all very excited to see your student walk across the stage! 

All students must complete 10 hours of community service.  Record sheets and suggested activities are provided by the 8th grade counselor.

If your student…

Then they...

Owes money for missing library books, textbooks, or school property

Will not participate in any end-of-year activities

3 final “F” grades (in December and May)

Will not participate in promotion graduation ceremony

4 final “F” grades (in December and May)

Will not be promoted to 9th grade, nor participate in any end-of-year activities

4 or more unsatisfactory citizenship marks “U” (in December and May)

Will not participate in any end-of-year activities

2 or more suspensions

Will not participate in promotion graduation ceremony, or any end-of-year activities

San Francisco Unified School District High Schools

High School Application

-In October San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) will be mailing a high school application to you. Make sure San Francisco Unified School District has your correct address on file.  If you are not sure please check with the counseling office or update it at 555 Franklin Street, Rm 100 (SFUSD District Office). Your parent/guardian must bring 2 forms of a proof of address (lease, PG&E bill, etc.)

 

-You must rank order the high schools you wish to attend. 

 

-Hand in your application by the deadline in order to have the best chance of receiving one of your choices.  The deadline is January 21 (December 13th if you are applying for Lowell).

 

-Print clearly, blue or black ink.  Please follow the directions of the application. In addition to writing the names of the high schools, you must write the high school number and program code. Numbers and program codes are located on the application instructions.

 

-If you are interested in applying to Lowell, you must list it as one of your choices on the SFUSD enrollment application. You must fill out a separate Lowell application as well as the SFUSD application. 



-If you are interested in School of the Arts (SOTA), you must file a separate SOTA application as well as the SFUSD high school application.  The SOTA application must be submitted directly to SOTA.
